About the scholarship
NUST's Need Based Financial Aid Program supports admitted students from low- and middle-income families. Aid is awarded on assessed financial need and can cover partial or full academic expenditures for up to four years of undergraduate study.
Who can apply
- Academic requirement
- Admission to NUST is on merit; the financial aid programme is for admitted students.
- Income requirement
- Financial need is assessed through the NUST Need Based Financial Aid Application Form (NFAAF), including household income, assets, dependents, and expenses.
- Enrolment
- Undergraduate students at NUST. Applicants must submit the NFAAF by the same deadline as the online admission application.
- The NFAAF is mandatory for consideration; missing the deadline means the candidate is not considered for financial aid.
- NUST says applicants must also apply for external scholarships such as PEEF, BEEF, SEEF, or CMEEF and provide proof of applying.
What it covers
Academic expenditures
Need-based scholarships cover partial or full academic expenditures for partial or full duration, up to four years for undergraduate study.
Interest-free options
NUST also lists interest-free loans and installment facilities as separate financial-aid options; they are not the same as a scholarship.
How to apply
Apply through the NUST admission process and the online NFAAF. The NFAAF deadline is the same as the online admission application deadline.
- 1
Submit the online NFAAF
Complete the NUST Need Based Financial Aid Application Form with biographical and financial information.
- 2
Upload supporting documents
Attach soft copies of the supporting documents requested in the NFAAF.
- 3
Submit hard copies if asked
If the Financial Aid Office emails you, submit the supporting documents in hard form to the FAO.
- 4
Respond to the aid decision
Provisionally selected candidates receive a financial aid decision with the admission offer and must accept or decline it.
Documents to prepare
- Income proof for every earning member: last three months' salary slips, pension book, or an income affidavit
- Income tax returns for business income
- Bank statements for the last 12 months, for all family accounts
- Last month's electricity, gas, phone, and water bills
- Property and vehicle ownership documents, where applicable
- CNIC or B-Form of the applicant and parents/guardian
- Domicile certificate of the applicant
- Photographs of the residence, outside and inside

How selection works
The Financial Aid Office calculates net disposable income from the NFAAF and supporting documents. The NUST financial aid committee reviews the evaluation and decides on need. The decision is communicated through the official scholarship award letter or email.
