How scholarships work in Pakistan

Who provides them
Federal and provincial programmes, universities, and private foundations all fund undergraduate study. The provider matters because it decides the application route, the eligibility rules, and who answers your questions.
Merit or need
Some awards are decided on marks alone. Others are for students with financial need. Many combine both: you must meet an academic threshold, then compete for a limited number of awards. Read the basis on each listing before you spend time on the form.
What the money covers
A scholarship is not always a full ride. It may cover tuition only, tuition plus a stipend, hostel charges, or a one-time grant. The detail page lists the components the provider has published; anything unpublished is not guessed.
How to apply
Some programmes use a central online portal. Others require you to apply through your university's financial aid office after admission. The route and the documents are different, so start with the official page linked on the scholarship.
How UNiGUIDE organises them
A scholarship is the programme. A cycle is one year's round of it. We keep the current cycle separate from last year's, so an old deadline never looks current. If the provider has not published the next cycle, the page says (not officially announced).
Eligibility is not selection
Meeting the minimum criteria only means you may apply. It does not mean you will receive the award. Selection can also depend on the number of seats, the provider's budget, your interview or test, and the strength of the other applicants.
This guide is general editorial guidance, not a promise that a particular scheme will fund you. Eligibility, coverage, and deadlines are set by each provider. Use the official link on every listing to confirm the current terms.

Scholarships usually sit inside an admission process. Check the university profile for entry tests, deadlines, merit lists, and the official admission page.
